ABSOLUTE VODKA AND POP ART
Absolut vodka pop art paintings
Absolut vodka pop art became famous in the middle 80’s. In 1986, Andy Warhol became the first artist to collaborate with Absolut Vodka when he created an original piece inspired by his adoration of the brand’s bottle.
Andy Warhol produced the first piece of the spirit in 1986. This collaboration that makes sense given the artist’s penchant for mixing high art with pop culture symbols. Artist Rooms acquired it jointly with the National Galleries of Scotland.
Warhol then convinced Haring, another major figure in New York City’s Pop Art scene, to contribute to the campaign. Haring painted an Absolut bottle in outline, surrounded by a crowd of his signature outline figures, rendered with childlike simplicity.
Now after some years, there has been a relaunch of the Andy Warhol Absolut bottle, into a special and limited edition.
